Fort Woof Dog Park

Keep Fort Woof Free!
Barktoberfest Rocks!
Welcome!

Fort Woof, Fort Worth’s first fenced off-leash dog park, is located at Gateway Park,  north of Interstate 30 between Beach Street and Oakland Boulevard, east of downtown. Open from 5:00 am to 11:30 pm daily, the park provides an ideal place for dogs and their owners to have fun (within the limits defined in the park rules).

Fort Woof provides two large fenced areas for dogs to roam, one for dogs 40 pounds and more and a separate area for dogs weighing less than 40 pounds. Each area has picnic tables (no food of any type in the park, please) and park benches for humans, a watering station for both humans and dogs, and multiple poop-disposal locations, each with a supply of plastic bags (for humans to use when cleaning up after their dogs, as is required by the rules).

Why go to a dog park?

Fort Woof closed April 15th, 2008

Fort Woof will be closed April 15th from 6:30 am to 1 pm for maintenance.

Let’s thank our city leaders for Fort Woof!

When someone gives you a nice gift, it's only polite to thank them. The Fort Worth City Council voted to create Fort Woof and has continued too support it with funding. Please take a moment to share your appreciation for the city’s creation and continued support of Fort Woof and maybe include your favorite Fort Woof story. In December 2003, Mayor Mike Moncrief, Councilman Frank Moss (District 5) and Councilwoman Wendy Davis (District 9) were on the Council and voted for the creation of Fort Woof, so be sure to give them a special thanks. Just say thanks!
